Diesels of class 50 at work on British Rail between 1979 and 1987. Locations include Exeter St David's, the Lickey Incline, Salisbury, Bodmin Road, Templecombe, Newton Abbot, Crewkerne, Dainton Bank and Honiton. Locomotives featured include 50001 Dreadnought, 50006 Neptune, 50007 Hercules, 50008 Resolution, 50010 Monarch, 50014 Warspite, 50019 Ramilles, 50020 Revenge, 50023 Howe, 50025 Invincible, 50029 Renown, 50031 Hood, 50033 Glorious, 50035 Ark Royal, 50038 Formidable, 50039 Implacable, 50045 Achilles and 50048 Dauntless. At the time of some of the recordings, 50001, 50007, 50010, 50019, 50020, 50025, 50029, 50039, 50045 and 50048 had not been through the refurbishment programme carried out at Doncaster Works.
