Description from Lineside Video Productions
British modern traction at work in the 1980s and 1990s. Run-time approx 80 mins.
The Class 47s have been in front-line service since the early-1960s; today just a handful remain in traffic, mainly in the private sector. This programme looks back to the heyday of the class in the late-1980s & early 1990s as we see many locomotives that today are consigned to the history books. Both passenger and freight services are seen across the country from the South-West to Scotland and from the North-West to Yorkshire, as we keep those modern traction memories alive!
