Description from Lineside Video Productions

Run-time 103 mins approx

The programme starts with a visit to the Wherry lines to the east of Norwich, where we see the old semaphore signals in operation during their final months before replacement by colour light signalling. British Rail-era diesel multiple units feature as well as class 37s, nos 37 409 and 419 on loco-hauled duties. We also witness 57 002 and 003 on the Railhead Treatment Train near Great Yarmouth. Filmed in October 2018.

It is the East Coast Main Line that we visit next as we study class 91s and HSTs at speed on this classic main line. Soon the current-day rail scene along this stretch will change forever with new ‘Azuma’ IETs due for large scale introduction.

The third section in this programme looks at a variety of workings, including a class 70 at Truro, steam and diesel on the GlosWarks Railway, 60000 on a steam specilal near Gloucester and GWR 7029 storming up the Stroud Valley in early April 2019.

We head to the Peak District next and a study of stone workings near Buxton. Class 37 number 716 is the stand out star with some classic thrash action as it toils away shunting heavy stone trains. Also witnessed are DB, Freightliner and GBRf class 66s at work.

The programme concludes with a trip to the Severn Valley Railway as we attend the Class 50s Golden Jubilee Gala held in early October 2018. Our roving camera features many close-up angles as well as scenes from behind the locos from the front coach, where we can enjoy the noise!
