Diesel Traction Video	Class 27 Tribute

Description from Diesel Traction Video

60 minutes of Class 27 & 26 Action

The Class 27s have been a familiar part of the Scottish scene for their entire working lives since 1961. So much so, that it is easy to forget that some of the original batch began their working lives at such exotic locations as Cricklewood, Wellingborough and Leicester. This DVD was shot in 1985/87 and concentrates mainly on their sterling work hauling the Edinburgh to Dundee services. We watch them arrive and depart Edinburgh Waverley, from a high level, and a ground level position. At Dundee you will be treated to a complete and enthralling sequence. 27048 arrives with the 10.15 from Edinburgh. 26023 shunts the stock in pouring rain almost derailing a coach in the process. Then 27048 departs with the 12.30 to Edinburgh. These are some of the best steam heat scenes you will ever see.More classic steam heat shots included are 27052 calling at Markinch and 27001/046 calling at Sterling with the Class 27 Farewell Tour. The Farewell Tour is included again with 27055/063 in charge.Other locations include Aberdour, Motherwell M.P.D., Burntisland and The Forth Bridge. At Inverkeithing we see 26029 on the Dock Yard Branch besides 26006, 26010 and some 27s on the main line.
